Baking Soda, Any Impact on Health?

Sodium Bicarbonate, or baking soda as people would prefer to say, is commonly used as leaveners in baked goods. This chemical compound is found in crystalline form in nature but is ground to a fine powder for use in cooking. However, besides cooking purpose, does Sodium Bicarbonate have any other impact for our health?

According to Keri Glassman, a nationally recognized nutritionist in USA, baking soda has lots of benefits for your health. Aside for baking, you can use baking soda for cleaning the furniture or whitening your teeth. Surprisingly you can drink baking soda mixed with water to increase your health.

So what are the benefits drinking water-mixed baking soda?

Improve the digestive system

If you have a stomach problem, mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 glass of water every morning. This solution will maintain a stable and healthy pH in your digestive system, minimize gastric gas, and better bowel movements.

Improve heart health

Disorders of the blood flow and heart system will make you get tired quickly, cause digestive system disorders, and decrease immune system. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 glass of water every day to detox and increase blood flow.

Reduce bloating

For over bloating, you can reduce it by mixing 1 teaspoon with ¾ glass of water. It will return pH to its neutral state hence decrease the gas production. The acid and enzyme condition will return to neutral.

Maintain kidneys health

The study showed the decrease of their kidneys disorders is better than the patients whom weren’t consuming baking soda. As a mouthwash

Due to the variation of our foods, it’s important to clean the inside of our mouth to prevent any illness or the growth of fungus. Mouthwash could reach every nook and cranny that’s unreachable by mere toothbrush. There are already lots of people using baking soda as a mouthwash because of its anti-bacterial and anti-microbial nature. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a glass of warm water, use it routinely.
